Key Focus of Study
This mixed-methods social sciences study embeds anthropologists in the Croix-Rouge française (CRf), a critical organization supporting pandemic response in France, to help ensure continuous mobilization, motivation and provision of health and other support services during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are conducting ongoing analyses of circulating stories and misinformation reported through media/social media to understand what kinds of information are circulating through these channels. More critically, we conduct rapid ethnographic evaluation among health and other workers (volunteers and employees) to understand how they understand and act on this information. Close coordination with the CRf and its Foundation will develop interventions to strengthen support of volunteers and employees and ensure continuity of activities.
