OPERATE SOC EPIDEMICS curriculum

The Sonar-Global manual Operate-Soc Epidemics (Operational training on the social dimensions of epidemics) aims to empower response actors to take into account social aspects in their work on emerging epidemics and infectious threats

Response actors include everyone involved in public health, healthcare, health communication and community engagement, as well as community members, social scientists and students. Social aspects refers to the social, economic, cultural, environmental and political dimensions of emerging epidemics.

The operational objective of the manual is to enable response actors to identify social aspects, to learn about social science concepts and methods, and to collaborate with social scientists in operational settings.
